Master the Curriculum

Use precise language to describe the properties of 2D and 3D shapes and compare shapes by reasoning about similarities and differences in properties

Year 2Geometry4 resources teach this

What this means, in plain words

Comparing asks which is larger or smaller. Ordering puts several of them in a line from smallest to largest.

Shape work names shapes by their properties, sides, corners and faces, rather than by what they look like.

This asks a child to say why, not just what. The sentence is the answer, and the number on its own is not enough.

Tagged to Year 2 in geometry. 4 resources in the library teach it.
