This Year 1 Addition and Subtraction Fluency and Reasoning resource (Set 4) is a comprehensive teaching tool aligned with the UK National Curriculum objective: “Add and subtract one-digit and two-digit numbers to 20, including 0.” Focusing on numbers up to 10, the resource offers a variety of engaging activities designed to develop fluency, conceptual understanding, and reasoning skills in young learners. The workbook includes interactive tasks using pictorial representations, bead strings, number lines, ten frames, and number pieces. It also provides word problems, comparison symbols (<, >, =), and reasoning questions to encourage mathematical discussion and justification. Suitable for classroom use, homework, or additional practice, this resource includes question and answer sheets for self-marking or teacher guidance. Ideal for supporting pupils in mastering early addition and subtraction skills with confidence and clarity. Perfect for: Year 1 teachers, homeschooling parents, and tutors seeking structured maths fluency and reasoning practice that meets curriculum standards.
Show lessThe standard small step pack, as her own modules ship it. We do not print page counts here, because her catalogue does not publish them and a guessed number is worse than none.
Her own system, with the star count repeated in every worksheet header so a child can be handed the right sheet without a word.

“Good value, and the answers are actually on it.”
Small thing, but half the free sheets online expect you to work the answers out yourself. My TA can run a group on this without a briefing first.

“Fine, though the font is small for my class.”
The maths is right and the sequence is sensible. Several of my children needed it enlarged to A3, which is easy enough but worth knowing before you print thirty.
