“The code at the end is the reason they check their own answers.”

Ordinarily half my class would hand in a page of column subtraction without looking at it twice. They cannot finish this one without noticing a mistake, so the self-marking does itself.

“Useful, but my class finished it in twelve minutes.”

The maths is sound and the presentation is lovely. It is a starter rather than a lesson for a secure Year 5 group, so I would pair it with something longer. A harder version with exchanges across two zeros would get five stars from me.

No editing, no reformatting, no hunting for the answers. The three levels are on separate pages, which sounds obvious until you have used the sites where they are not.
