Engage your Year 5 pupils with this Easter-themed maths activity that combines festive fun with important curriculum skills. The Year 5 Easter Egg Hunt Word Problems resource includes 14 carefully designed multi-step problems, challenging pupils to apply all four operations—addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division—while working with numbers up to 10,000. Pupils are encouraged to decide which operations and methods to use, explain their reasoning, and select appropriate mental or written strategies depending on the complexity of the calculation. Designed specifically for printing on A4 address label stickers, this resource allows teachers to create an interactive Easter egg hunt in the classroom or school grounds. Alternatively, the problems can be used as individual problem cards for desk-based learning. Each sticker encourages careful reading, identification of key information, and correct sequencing of calculations, helping pupils build fluency and mathematical reasoning in a practical, engaging way. This activity directly supports the Year 5 National Curriculum objective of solving addition and subtraction multi-step problems in context, while also reinforcing secure multiplication and division skills. With minimal preparation required, it is ideal for Easter-themed lessons, revision sessions, or enrichment activities, providing a memorable and hands-on learning experience for pupils.
Show lessThe standard small step pack, as her own modules ship it. We do not print page counts here, because her catalogue does not publish them and a guessed number is worse than none.
Her own system, with the star count repeated in every worksheet header so a child can be handed the right sheet without a word.

“Good value, and the answers are actually on it.”
Small thing, but half the free sheets online expect you to work the answers out yourself. My TA can run a group on this without a briefing first.

“Fine, though the font is small for my class.”
The maths is right and the sequence is sensible. Several of my children needed it enlarged to A3, which is easy enough but worth knowing before you print thirty.
