Interpret Remainders in Context Help your Year 6 pupils make sense of remainders in division through compelling, curriculum-aligned practice. This resource equips learners to determine whether a remainder should be left as a whole number, converted into a fraction, or rounded, depending on the context. Exercises are designed to strengthen mathematical reasoning and deepen number sense – exactly the kind of clarity and purpose you’d expect from Twinkl-style teaching materials. Learners will: Recognise when it’s appropriate to leave remainders as whole numbers, express them as fractions, or round up/down based on scenario. Apply reasoning to authentic contexts—such as sharing items, packaging, capacity or measurement—to make mathematical decisions with confidence. Grow their understanding of division, number sense, and flexibility in interpreting results. Ideal for use in class discussions, independent tasks, or guided lessons, this resource offers practical, curriculum-aligned support for teaching an often-overlooked but vital maths concept.
Show lessThe standard small step pack, as her own modules ship it. We do not print page counts here, because her catalogue does not publish them and a guessed number is worse than none.
Her own system, with the star count repeated in every worksheet header so a child can be handed the right sheet without a word.

“Good value, and the answers are actually on it.”
Small thing, but half the free sheets online expect you to work the answers out yourself. My TA can run a group on this without a briefing first.

“Fine, though the font is small for my class.”
The maths is right and the sequence is sensible. Several of my children needed it enlarged to A3, which is easy enough but worth knowing before you print thirty.
