About this resource

Make counting active and engaging with this EYFS Maths Resource Pack, focusing on counting actions up to 10.Perfect for Reception learners, this pack helps children link numbers to movement through fun, interactive slides and practical activities—no worksheets needed. Children practise counting reliably to 10 by performing and observing actions such as clapping, jumping, or tapping. With prompts like “Clap 5 times” or “Jump 8 times,” pupils engage their whole body in learning, reinforcing one-to-one correspondence and strengthening number fluency in a playful way. Independent activities encourage pupils to follow number cards and repeat actions the correct number of times, providing opportunities for kinaesthetic learning. A plenary recap brings the class together to review and celebrate counting skills. What’s Included in the Pack? ✔ Teaching slides introducing counting through physical actions ✔ Interactive starter activities like clapping, jumping, and tapping ✔ Guided counting tasks up to 10 with movement prompts ✔ Independent activities using number cards and action repetition ✔ A plenary recap to consolidate learning outcomes Why Teachers Love This Pack: ✔ Designed for EYFS / Reception statutory maths learning goals ✔ Active and engaging—perfect for kinaesthetic learners ✔ No worksheets required, just movement and fun ✔ Flexible for whole-class teaching, PE integration, or small-group sessions Curriculum Links: This pack supports the EYFS Statutory Framework for Mathematics by helping children: ✔ Count reliably up to 10 actions ✔ Strengthen one-to-one correspondence and fluency ✔ Connect numbers to physical movement for deeper learning Whether introducing counting to 10 for the first time or reinforcing it through active play, this resource makes early maths practical, fun, and memorable. The standard small step pack, as her own modules ship it. We do not print page counts here, because her catalogue does not publish them and a guessed number is worse than none.

★★★ Differentiated three ways
  • Working towardsScaffolded, with the model or the bar already drawn.
  • Working withinThe expected standard for the year group.
  • Greater depthReasoning and explaining, not just more of the same.

Her own system, with the star count repeated in every worksheet header so a child can be handed the right sheet without a word.

Fine, though the font is small for my class.

The maths is right and the sequence is sensible. Several of my children needed it enlarged to A3, which is easy enough but worth knowing before you print thirty.

Printed it at eight on a Sunday and taught it on the Monday.

No editing, no reformatting, no hunting for the answers. The three levels are on separate pages, which sounds obvious until you have used the sites where they are not.

Matches our White Rose planning almost week for week.

I stopped adapting things from three different sites and now start here. The odd week does not line up exactly, but the small step it covers is always somewhere in the same block.
