Support spelling, phonics and problem-solving skills with these Lunar New Year Themed Year 2 Anagrams . This engaging literacy activity encourages children to unjumble simple 3- and 4-letter words linked to Lunar New Year, including colours, animals and celebrations . As pupils work through the anagrams, they practise segmenting and blending sounds , recognising familiar vocabulary and applying their phonics knowledge in a purposeful context. The activity also promotes careful checking, as children are encouraged to think about whether their answers look right, sound right and make sense . Designed for Year 2 learners , this resource uses age-appropriate vocabulary and a clear cultural theme to keep children motivated and engaged. It is ideal for use during whole-class lessons, independent work, early morning tasks or continuous provision , making it a flexible addition to your literacy provision. Perfect for reinforcing spelling and phonics skills in a fun, low-pressure way, this Lunar New Year–themed anagram activity helps children build confidence while developing key literacy skills.
Show lessThe standard small step pack, as her own modules ship it. We do not print page counts here, because her catalogue does not publish them and a guessed number is worse than none.
Her own system, with the star count repeated in every worksheet header so a child can be handed the right sheet without a word.

“Good value, and the answers are actually on it.”
Small thing, but half the free sheets online expect you to work the answers out yourself. My TA can run a group on this without a briefing first.

“Fine, though the font is small for my class.”
The maths is right and the sequence is sensible. Several of my children needed it enlarged to A3, which is easy enough but worth knowing before you print thirty.
