Teach Year 5 children about Remembrance Day with this engaging and accessible Remembrance Day Booklet, designed to support classroom learning through meaningful and age-appropriate activities. This resource provides opportunities for pupils to reflect on the importance of Remembrance Day while developing key skills in maths, vocabulary and creative writing. The booklet includes three varied activities that can be used as part of a Remembrance Day lesson, morning activity, independent task or classroom discussion. Each activity has been carefully designed to be suitable for Year 5 children, helping them learn about remembrance in a respectful and thoughtful way. Activities included: Colour by rounding activity – Children practise rounding numbers to the nearest 100 while revealing a themed image through their answers. Remembrance Day wordsearch – Pupils use the given clues to work out the themed vocabulary before finding the words in the puzzle, helping to develop spelling, reading and vocabulary skills. REMEMBER acrostic poem activity – Children create a reflective acrostic poem using each letter of the word REMEMBER, with additional space to write further sentences and phrases. A challenge activity encourages pupils to create their own acrostic poem using a different word. Answers are included at the end of the booklet, making this resource easy to use for teachers and ideal for independent learning or quick marking.
