Spring Number Representation – Ordering

This Spring themed EYFS Number Representation Ordering activity is a practical, hands-on maths resource designed to help children develop a secure understanding of number representations and numerical order to 10 . Using engaging spring-themed egg images, children explore how numbers can be shown in different ways while practising ordering from smallest to largest. The activity is ideal for EYFS children who are confident counting to 10 and are beginning to recognise that numbers can be represented in a variety of forms, including numerals, Numicon, dice patterns, and pictorial representations . Children carefully cut out the spring eggs, identify the number each one represents, and place them in the correct order from 1 to 10 . Throughout the activity, children are encouraged to talk about their thinking , explaining how they know which number each egg shows and how they can match each representation to a number they already know. Opportunities to check and correct their work help reinforce accuracy and build confidence.
