About this resource

This Spring themed EYFS Picture-Based Logic Puzzle is a fun and engaging activity designed to support children in developing early problem-solving and reasoning skills . Using clear, child-friendly spring images, this resource encourages children to think logically, spot patterns, and apply simple rules in a visual and accessible way. The activity is suitable for EYFS children who are confident recognising and matching pictures and who are beginning to develop their logical thinking. Children are encouraged to look carefully at each row and column to identify which picture is missing, remembering that each picture can only appear once in each row and once in each column . Throughout the activity, children are prompted to explain their thinking , helping to develop reasoning and mathematical talk. Opportunities to check work and ensure that no pictures are repeated support accuracy, attention to detail, and self-correction skills. This low-prep resource is ideal for maths lessons, adult-led groups, early finishers, or continuous provision, making it a valuable addition to any EYFS reasoning and problem-solving resource collection .Read more

The standard small step pack, as her own modules ship it. We do not print page counts here, because her catalogue does not publish them and a guessed number is worse than none.

★★★ Differentiated three ways
  • Working towardsScaffolded, with the model or the bar already drawn.
  • Working withinThe expected standard for the year group.
  • Greater depthReasoning and explaining, not just more of the same.

Her own system, with the star count repeated in every worksheet header so a child can be handed the right sheet without a word.
