This Year 3 Maths Assessment and Curriculum Questions Resource is a comprehensive and engaging pack designed to support teaching, learning and assessment across the full Year 3 mathematics curriculum , in line with the UK National Curriculum . It is ideal for whole-class teaching, guided group work, targeted interventions, revision activities or end-of-unit and end-of-year assessment. The resource covers all key Year 3 maths learning objectives , beginning with number and place value, including reading, writing and comparing numbers up to 1,000, counting in multiples, finding 10 and 100 more or less, and using number lines effectively. Pupils develop fluency in addition and subtraction with numbers up to three digits, using mental strategies, formal written methods, inverse operations and estimation to check answers. A strong focus is placed on multiplication and division , including understanding equal groups, using arrays, applying known facts, and recalling and using times tables for the 3, 4 and 8 times tables. Children practise solving one-step and two-step word problems, developing reasoning skills and explaining their mathematical thinking clearly. The resource also supports learning in fractions , including counting in fractions, recognising unit and non-unit fractions, finding fractions of amounts, comparing fractions and understanding equivalent fractions. Measurement objectives are fully covered, including length, mass, capacity, perimeter, time and money , with opportunities to convert between units and solve real-life problems. Further content includes geometry (identifying properties of 2D and 3D shapes, angles, and lines), position and direction , and statistics , such as interpreting and presenting data using bar charts, pictograms and tables.
