Children will practise applying suffix rules that involve preserving a soft g sound or choosing between e and i spelling patterns. Included words: outrageous hideous serious courteous courageous curious Pupils will: Read the spelling words Cover them Write them under the correct image Underline the key spelling focus Key rule provided: “A final e must be kept to preserve the /dʒ/ sound in words like outrageous .
