This UKS2 New Year 2026 Maths Challenge Mat is a rich problem-solving resource designed to deepen pupils’ mathematical reasoning, fluency and real-world application using the number 2026 as a meaningful context. Aimed at Upper Key Stage 2 , this low-prep maths mat encourages pupils to explain their thinking, justify answers and apply knowledge across multiple strands of the maths curriculum, including place value, calculation, measure and money. The maths is right and the sequence is sensible. Several of my children needed it enlarged to A3, which is easy enough but worth knowing before you print thirty.

No editing, no reformatting, no hunting for the answers. The three levels are on separate pages, which sounds obvious until you have used the sites where they are not.

I stopped adapting things from three different sites and now start here. The odd week does not line up exactly, but the small step it covers is always somewhere in the same block.
