Compare Numbers Written as Words (Up to 10,000,000) Focus on boosting students’ confidence and fluency in both maths and literacy with this carefully crafted resource. Designed for learners to accurately read, interpret, and compare numbers up to 10,000,000 written in words, this activity strengthens place value understanding and number sense This versatile resource blends numerical comprehension with reading skills, guiding children through exercises that: Decode large numbers in their written-word form. Discern numerical differences based on place value. Sharpen comparative vocabulary (e.g., greater than, less than, equal to). Ideal for use in Year 5 and Year 6 maths lessons , this resource aligns seamlessly with standards requiring students to read, write, order, and compare large numbers and understand each digit’s value Whether used independently, in pairs, or as part of guided classwork, this resource encourages engaging practice and deeper number sense—making it an effective and flexible addition to any primary maths toolkit.
Show lessThe standard small step pack, as her own modules ship it. We do not print page counts here, because her catalogue does not publish them and a guessed number is worse than none.
Her own system, with the star count repeated in every worksheet header so a child can be handed the right sheet without a word.

“Good value, and the answers are actually on it.”
Small thing, but half the free sheets online expect you to work the answers out yourself. My TA can run a group on this without a briefing first.

“Fine, though the font is small for my class.”
The maths is right and the sequence is sensible. Several of my children needed it enlarged to A3, which is easy enough but worth knowing before you print thirty.
