“Fine, though the font is small for my class.”
The maths is right and the sequence is sensible. Several of my children needed it enlarged to A3, which is easy enough but worth knowing before you print thirty.

This Year 3 Maths resource helps children develop mental strategies for dividing 2-digit numbers by 1-digit numbers, building on prior multiplication knowledge and times-table fluency. The lesson begins with a starter that revisits multiplication calculations, encouraging discussion about mental strategies such as times-table facts, doubling, partitioning, and rounding. This sets the stage for exploring division as the inverse of multiplication. The introduction guides children through mental strategies for division, including using known facts, partitioning, and halving. The lesson emphasizes that rounding is less useful for division, as some calculations do not produce whole numbers. Concrete resources like Base 10 can support understanding, but the focus is on performing calculations mentally where possible. The main activity involves solving word problems on sticky labels, allowing children to select, solve, and explain the strategy they used to find the quotient. This encourages flexibility in mental calculations and highlights which strategies work best for different types of division problems. In the plenary, children explore a calculation (e.g., 85 ÷ 6) that cannot be solved mentally to reinforce the concept that mental strategies only work when the quotient is a whole number. Common misconceptions, such as thinking division makes numbers bigger, ignoring place value, or assuming all divisions result in whole numbers, are addressed to deepen understanding. Ideal for Year 3 teachers, this resource combines discussion, visual aids, and hands-on problem-solving to build confidence in mental division strategies and support conceptual understanding of the inverse relationship between multiplication and division.
Show lessThe standard small step pack, as her own modules ship it. We do not print page counts here, because her catalogue does not publish them and a guessed number is worse than none.
Her own system, with the star count repeated in every worksheet header so a child can be handed the right sheet without a word.

“Printed it at eight on a Sunday and taught it on the Monday.”
No editing, no reformatting, no hunting for the answers. The three levels are on separate pages, which sounds obvious until you have used the sites where they are not.

“Matches our White Rose planning almost week for week.”
I stopped adapting things from three different sites and now start here. The odd week does not line up exactly, but the small step it covers is always somewhere in the same block.
