This comprehensive resource is perfect for Year 6 teachers looking to deliver an effective and engaging lesson on simplifying fractions. The lesson pack includes fully prepared planning documents, differentiated worksheets for varying ability levels, and reasoning tasks to deepen understanding and challenge pupils. Designed to align with national curriculum expectations, the materials support pupils in recognising equivalent fractions, cancelling common factors, and expressing fractions in their simplest form. The worksheets are tiered, making them easy to adapt for mixed-ability classes and ensuring all learners are appropriately stretched. The reasoning tasks help pupils to explain their methods and consolidate their understanding of key fraction concepts. Whether used in a classroom setting, for intervention groups or distance learning, this lesson provides everything you need to confidently teach, reinforce and assess this important mathematical skill. Save time planning and inspire your pupils to master simplifying fractions.
Show lessThe standard small step pack, as her own modules ship it. We do not print page counts here, because her catalogue does not publish them and a guessed number is worse than none.
Her own system, with the star count repeated in every worksheet header so a child can be handed the right sheet without a word.

“Good value, and the answers are actually on it.”
Small thing, but half the free sheets online expect you to work the answers out yourself. My TA can run a group on this without a briefing first.

“Fine, though the font is small for my class.”
The maths is right and the sequence is sensible. Several of my children needed it enlarged to A3, which is easy enough but worth knowing before you print thirty.
