About this resource

Support your Year 2 pupils in building fluency and reasoning with this Maths Resource Pack, focusing on deriving and using related facts up to 100. Fully aligned with the National Curriculum, this resource helps children extend their knowledge of number bonds and fact families, applying them to larger numbers with confidence. Through clear teaching slides, worked examples, and engaging activities, pupils explore how known facts can be used to solve related problems. For example, if they know 3 + 7 = 10, they can derive 30 + 70 = 100 or use subtraction facts such as 100 – 70 = 30. By spotting patterns and applying their knowledge, pupils develop flexibility in mental arithmetic and problem solving. Independent tasks provide opportunities to practise using related facts systematically, explain reasoning, and apply knowledge in different contexts. A plenary recap reinforces strategies, encourages discussion, and ensures children are confident in deriving and applying facts up to 100. What’s Included in the Pack? ✔ Teaching slides introducing related facts up to 100 ✔ Worked examples linking addition and subtraction fact families ✔ Practice activities applying number bonds to larger numbers ✔ Differentiated independent tasks to support all ability levels ✔ A plenary recap to consolidate strategies and check fluency Why Teachers Love This Pack: ✔ Fully aligned with the Year 2 National Curriculum for Maths ✔ Builds fluency, reasoning, and problem-solving skills ✔ Differentiated to support whole-class teaching and individual needs ✔ Ideal for daily practice, interventions, homework, or SATs prep Curriculum Links: This pack supports the Year 2 National Curriculum for Mathematics by helping pupils: ✔ Derive and use related facts up to 100 ✔ Apply addition and subtraction knowledge to larger numbers ✔ Strengthen reasoning, fluency, and mental arithmetic Whether introducing related facts up to 100 or revising them ahead of assessments, this resource provides everything you neeRead more

The standard small step pack, as her own modules ship it. We do not print page counts here, because her catalogue does not publish them and a guessed number is worse than none.

★★★ Differentiated three ways
  • Working towardsScaffolded, with the model or the bar already drawn.
  • Working withinThe expected standard for the year group.
  • Greater depthReasoning and explaining, not just more of the same.

Her own system, with the star count repeated in every worksheet header so a child can be handed the right sheet without a word.

Matches our White Rose planning almost week for week.

I stopped adapting things from three different sites and now start here. The odd week does not line up exactly, but the small step it covers is always somewhere in the same block.

The editable file is why we renewed.

Being able to change two questions for the child who joined us in January, without rebuilding the whole sheet, is worth the subscription on its own.

Good value, and the answers are actually on it.

Small thing, but half the free sheets online expect you to work the answers out yourself. My TA can run a group on this without a briefing first.
