Demonstration

This is a proposal for how the back office could work. It is not connected to live data.

Catalogue figures are measured from a harvest of the live site. People, orders and campaigns are invented.

Read only

Import a PowerPoint

Everything you make, you make in PowerPoint. This opens one, shows you what is inside it, puts what it can onto the template the site builds from, and hands it to the builder. Nothing is saved and nothing goes live until you say so.

What this does, and what it does not

A PowerPoint is a package with the slides, the pictures and the words in it, and this reads all three. It gives you the size of the page in plain numbers, which answers the question that decides everything else: your decks are 960 by 720, which is the older squarer 4:3 shape, not the widescreen 16:9 a modern classroom screen is.

What it will not do is guess. A field on the template is filled in with your words or left empty, and every value says which slide it came off, so you can check it against the file rather than take it on trust. Lines you numbered yourself come across as questions; nothing else is called a question, because a teaching slide is not one.

Choose a PowerPoint

A .pptx, up to 40MB. Not a .ppt from PowerPoint 97-2003: those are a different kind of file inside, and you will be told how to convert one. Nothing is saved until you say so.
