This is a proposal for how the back office could work. It is not connected to live data.

Catalogue figures are measured from a harvest of the live site. People, orders and campaigns are invented.

Read only

You are browsing as a signed-out visitor, so nothing on these screens will save. Publishing, generating and importing are all refused.

Newsletter

Your list, your campaigns and who they went to.

You keep MailerLite. This just feeds it better lists.

Sending, templates and the unsubscribe link all stay exactly where they are. What this adds is the one thing MailerLite cannot know on its own: which year group each subscriber teaches, worked out from what they download. That turns one email to five thousand people into seven emails that are actually about their class.

How the list has grown

People joining each week over the last twelve weeks.

The list grew by roughly fifty people a week for months, without any advertising and without the free resources contributing a single name, because the old download form never asked for an email address. The jump in the last week is the new one-step download form switching on: 57 of that week’s 96 came from teachers taking something free.

Free downloads are now the biggest single source by a distance, from work you were already giving away. It is the cheapest growth you have.

What the free downloads are bringing in

Captured by the one-step panel on the resource page. The address, the year group they teach and the strand of what they took all arrive together.

The tick starts empty, on purpose. Under UK consent rules a pre-ticked box is not consent, and it is not bundled into the account terms either. That costs a few names and buys a list that opens: the 60 in a hundred who tick it asked for it.

The 4 recent sign-ups who left it blank are still customers with an account and a known year group. They can be written to about the resource they took. They are not on the newsletter, and they should not be.

Who you could write to

7 of these 9 groups do not exist in MailerLite today, because the information needed to build them lives on your website.

Year groups come from two places: the one question on the download form, and what they actually download afterwards. The second keeps the first honest, so the group stays right when a teacher moves from Year 4 to Year 6.

The pattern is clear enough to act on. The narrower the group, the better it does: the subject leads email went to 318 people and was opened by six in ten of them.

Write the next one

Pick a resource and a group, and the email is built around it with the right link.

Write this week’s email

Four questions. The resource link and the cover are filled in for you, which is the part that takes the time today.

This group does not exist in MailerLite yet. It would be built from what people actually download and kept up to date for you.

Leave it blank and we will use the line shown in grey.

Nothing is sent from here. You always press send in MailerLite.
