This is a proposal for how the back office could work. It is not connected to live data.

Catalogue figures are measured from a harvest of the live site. People, orders and campaigns are invented.

Read only

You are browsing as a signed-out visitor, so nothing on these screens will save. Publishing, generating and importing are all refused.

Books

For something printed, that arrives in the post. A title, a year group, one picture from your own catalogue, and your mark along the bottom. Nothing here asks you for a term or a week: a book is not a small step.

And the pages inside it. Every book in the list below has its own inside: the guidance page, the contents, the words to learn, and then the pairs, which is a page of questions with the page for explaining them facing it. It prints at your own book size, 225.6 x 300.8mm, not A4.

What this is for

62 printed books are on your site already, 46 of them sold through Amazon. Their covers were drawn once, by a script, on one machine. Anything you make here is the same design, from the same catalogue of pictures, and goes on the site itself.

Your book covers

These are on this computer only, in this browser. Publishing is what puts one on the site. Deleting a draft here does not take a published book down.

Each name opens the page a customer sees. Edit or take down opens the book in the builder, from any computer, whether or not you started it on this one.

All four open the same builder. What arrives is a choice on the form, not a different screen, so the cover and the band along its bottom can never say different things. The books already on the site use this exact design.
