Make a book cover

For something printed, that arrives in the post. A title, a year group, one picture from your own catalogue, and your mark along the bottom. It is the same design as the workbook covers already on the site, so a new one sits on the shelf beside them.

What it is called

TitleThe subject only. The year group is already a badge and the format is already a band, so putting either in the title prints it twice.Small line above it, optionalAutumn term, Master your, A5 undated. Leave it empty and the title moves up.

Who it is for, and what it is

Year groupThis is what sets the colour of the whole cover. Leave it as None and the cover takes your brand blue instead, which is what the few books that belong to no year already do.Cover colourNo year group, so nothing decides this for you. Ink is the default because it cannot be mistaken for a year.What arrivesAlso sell it as a download. The same book, written once. You get a second cover with “PDF download” along the bottom instead of “Printed workbook”, so nobody buys the printed one expecting a file or the other way round.This is a colouring book. The picture prints with the colour taken out of it, because the colouring in is what the child is buying. The cover keeps your year colour, but around the picture rather than behind it, so a felt tip still works on it.

This is the real drawing from your catalogue, not a mock up, on the same layout the covers already on the site use. The small one is the same cover shrunk, not a different design.

This is the cover. The book has an inside as well.

The guidance page, the contents, the words to learn, the teaching pages and the answers at the back, at your own book size rather than A4. It is the same fifty-odd pages your printed books already have, and this is where they are written.

Saves itself the moment you change anything

Your work is kept in this browser as you type, alongside every other cover you have started, so closing the tab does not lose it. Print gives you the cover on its own page at full size, and Save as PDF in the print box gives you the file to send to the printer.

. The words in the preview are a placeholder, and a cover would go to the printer with them on it.

Put it on the site

Publishing gives this book its own page at its own address, puts it in search, and draws the cover the shop cards use. Nothing is charged for and nothing is posted anywhere: it is your site.
